Seeding bars BTF - BTFR

Zaaicombinatie aan het werk, bestaande uit de rotorkopeg HR 6040 RCS en de zaaimachine BTFR 6030

From versatility to autonomy

BTF and BTFR seeding bars, with working widths of 3 to 6 m, ensure constant seeding depths and quickly adapt to working conditions. When coupled with a KUHN power harrow and TF 1512 or TF 2300 C front hopper, they form a well-balanced and high-performance combination.

Rigid BTF and folding BTFR seeding bars in the 1030 range, are fitted with SEEDFLEX 1000 seeding units renowned for precision, even at high speeds. Some models also have versions with Suffolk coulters (BTFR 1010) or single disc coulters (BTFR 1020) that are capable of working in difficult seeding conditions. When combined with a TF 1512 or TF 2300 C front hopper and a KUHN power harrow, these seeding bars offer a well-balanced and high-performance combination that work well on both ploughed and min-tilled land. With capacities of 1,500 liters (2,000 liters with optional extension) (TF 1512) and 2,360 liters (TF 2300 C), and working widths from 3 to 6 metres, these seeding combinations have a long operating range that provides optimum work output. They adapt to working conditions quickly and easily thanks to their hydraulic or centralised manual seeding depth settings and the possibility of fitting VISTAFLOW valves on the distribution head.

Your benefits

A comprehensive range to meet your needs

Coupling/uncoupling the seeding bar

Quick and easy to couple/uncouple

KUHN seeding bars can be equipped, depending on models and working widths, with Suffolk coulters (BTFR 1010), single discs (BTFR 1020), or SEEDFLEX 1000 (BTF and BTFR 1030) seeding units. KUHN power harrows feature specially designed attachment parts to facilitate coupling the seeding bar, with no tools required. They also have hydraulic tie rods that contribute to reduce overhang. In addition, the seeding bar can be pivoted to work solo with the power harrow, i.e., it is not necessary to remove the seeding bar

BTFR 1010: the efficiency of Suffolk coulters For heavy and/or sticky soils such as clay"

The Suffolk coulters are capable of adapting to the most difficult conditions. Coulter pressure can be adjusted up to 25 kg to maintain a sufficient seeding depth, even in heavy or sticky soils such as clay. The Suffolk coulters are positioned in 3 rows, spaced at 33 cm, to facilitate passage through plant residues as well as in wet or stony conditions. Hydraulic seeding-depth and coulter-pressure settings, combined with a standard lower stop, mean that seeds are placed in the soil with precision. These robust seeding units require little maintenance. The Suffolk coulter is fitted with one single screw making it quick and easy to change if necessary.

Easier passage through residues and/or in wet conditions

The seeding units with single discs feature a large-diameter disc (Ø 327 mm) which opens the furrow perfectly. It is at a slight angle to minimise soil spray into the row. A cast-iron coulter on the side of the disc consolidates the furrow and delivers the seed with precision. These seeding units are positioned in 2 rows, spaced at 27 cm, to facilitate passage in wet conditions or in plant residues. Coulter pressure can be adjusted up to 32 kg. In addition, due to the lower-stop device, pressure and seeding-depth adjustments are independent from each other.

Precision seeding, even at high speeds

BTF and BTFR 1030 seeding bars are equipped with SEEDFLEX 1000 seeding units. Their large-diameter double discs, are offset by 41 mm for perfect furrow opening. These seeding units are mounted on a parallelogram and fitted with press wheels to precisely control the seeding depth and optimize soil/seed contact. As well as being perfectly adapted to sandy and/or silty soils, their 2-row design and 35 cm spacing also facilitates passage through residues and in clayey conditions. The coulter pressure of each seeding unit is adjustable up to 45 kg. The roller bearings and bearings of SEEDFLEX 1000 seeding units are lubricated for life. They don't require maintenance.

The TF 1512 front hopper's metering unit

Hydraulic or centralised manual settings

To adapt the parameters of the seed drill to the texture of the soil and seed type, it needs to be quick and easy to adjust. Depending on the model, seeding-depth adjustment is either a centralised manual system or hydraulic, from the tractor cab. In the latter case, two cylinders with shims serve as a reference point.
Hydraulic adjustments are available as standard for the BTFR 1010, 1020 and 1030 range of seeding bars. In addition, working depth and the levelling bar are adjusted hydraulically, directly from the cab, with an ISOBUS terminal, on the HR RCS range of power harrows, providing considerable operating comfort!

Precise and regular metering

The TF 1512 front hopper is equipped with a centralised metering unit with volumetric splines. The metering unit can distribute any seed type, from the smallest to the largest, with the same precision and evenness. It features a large application-rate range from 1 to 430 kg/ha. As for the TF 2300 C front hopper, it comes with the new OPTI SEED metering unit with cassettes. Together with the pressurised hopper, this metering unit offers many application-rate possibilities up to 500 kg/ha at 15 kph. It is extremely precise, even at high working speeds and with any shape and size of seed or fertiliser. Both hoppers are also equipped with a disengageable agitator to facilitate seed flow.

Simple and fast hitching/unhitching

The distribution head on KUHN seeding bars is equipped, as standard, with VISTAFLOW valves capable of 2*2-row tramlining. To monitor for clogging and universal tramlining, it can be fitted with VISTAFLOW valves on every row, as an option. If a row gets clogged, the terminal screen signals it automatically. On the distribution head, the LED on the row concerned turns red so that the user can locate the problem within seconds!

Well balanced, improved operating comfort

A perfectly integrated seeding combination

The BTF and BTFR coulter bars of the 1010, 1020, and 1030 ranges are fixed and guided by the power harrow roller. There are many benefits:
- a center of gravity as close as possible to the tractor;
- perfect integration of the seed drill combination;
- reduced lifting power required;
- constant seeding depth, independently of the working depth of the power harrow. The adjustment of one does not affect the position of the other;
- good stability and optimal ground following even in stony conditions.

Balanced load distribution

The combination of the front hopper with the power harrow and the seeding bar allows preparing the seedbed and sow in a single pass, saving labour, time and fuel! This combination also balances the loads between the tractor front and rear axles for greater comfort on the road and in the field. Manoeuvres are thus made easier, and the risk of soil compaction is reduced.

Safe transport

The BTFR seeding bars of the 1010, 1020 and 1030 range are equipped with a removable transport assistance system with semi-automatic coupling. The removable carrying frame supports the weight of the combination during transport. The maximum load on the rear axle and the GVW of the tractor are respected. The chassis features twin, pivoting large-diameter wheels. The carrying frame is easily removed thanks to the semi-automatic coupling. During work, it is placed at the end of the field in order to lighten the assembly. For road transport, the hydraulic top link is set into floating position. This ensures a smooth ride regardless of the terrain.

Great adaptability

KUHN seeding bars are combined with TF 1512 or TF 2300 C front hoppers. Both of them can be controlled using an ISOBUS terminal: CCI 60, CCI 800, or CCI 1200. In addition, with the TF 1512, you can use a QUANTRON S-2 control box (adapted to non-ISOBUS tractors) to manage seeding.
