BP 8402 PRO, versatility at its best

A new model is joining the triple shredder range, KUHN presents the BP 8402 PRO. Extremely versatile, the shredder is designed to work in various conditions: crop residues, cover crops, and grassy areas.
The BP 8402 PRO shredder boasts high performances in terms of shredding quality and output as well as reducing maintenance time.

Maximized shredding quality

The new PRO rotor’s outer cutting diameter of 493 mm combined with a faster rotational speed, allows absorbing larger volumes of residue and maximizing shredding quality.
The shredder comes standard with two counter-knives, one notched and one straight. A third notched counter-knife is available as an option.

Quick and easy maintenance

Maintenance is an important item for operators and contractors, it represents a non-negotiable part of a machine's operating cost. Shredder maintenance and downtime is reduced thanks to the 250-hour lubrication frequency for the transmission, the new hard-wearing hammers, and the bolted counter-knives and sheet metal lining.

Exemplary ground following

Featuring a new central frame with LIFT-CONTROL oleo-pneumatic suspension, the BP 8402 PRO is extremely stable, and its roller is subject to less strain. The oleo-pneumatic suspension also ensures excellent adaptation to working conditions. In addition, mechanical spring-loaded safety features protect the machine in the event of an obstacle.

A shredder compatible with high-powered tractors

The power transmission chain has been designed for tractors up to 400 hp. Each rotor is driven by a belt with automatic tensioning from the outer side via secondary transmissions to prevent any risk of breakage when folding the machine. Also, for increased service life, the drive shafts are equipped with a “Greasing System” with “Rilsan treatment.”
