Ploughshares

The plough share is a wearing part essential for soil penetration and cutting the furrow slice. There are different types of shares, especially the pointed share and the knife coulter.

The importance of choosing the right plowshare

Quality

The ploughshare is a steel part subject to high wear due to constant friction with the ground. That's why at KUHN we manufacture the shares in our own forge, and we only use boron steel to obtain heat treatment and ensure quality parts at the best price.

Ploughshares allow for efficient ploughing, ensuring optimal soil cultivation for crops. The share is secured to the plough by bolts.

Good ploughing allows 100% of crop residues to be buried to ensure soil preparation and good growth of the upcoming crop.

Durability and profitability

The ploughshare directly affects the ploughing quality and the plough’s longevity. They are subject to significant wear, especially in the presence of stones or abrasive soils.

Choose KUHN ploughshares that offer excellent wear resistance, thanks to the stamping and heat treatment carried out in our factories. This will allow you to reduce replacement costs and optimize your working time.

Safety

Choose safety by choosing genuine ploughshares manufactured for your KUHN plough. They are designed to efficiently manage residue and prevent blockages. This preserves soil flow and prevents damage to the machine.

How to choose your ploughshare?

Manufactured in our factory formerly called "Huard" in western France, different types of ploughshares are available to allow you to plough in all conditions with your plough:

  • The standard or carbide-coated ploughshare meets most conditions of use.
  • The knife coulter facilitates soil turning and improves residue burial efficiency. This version protects the shin and the mouldboard, and leaves a cleaner furrow bottom, resulting in better tractor grip.
