Fine-cut system on VBP 7100 baler-wrapper combinations

KUHN introduces a new fine-cut system for its VBP 7100 series baler-wrapper combinations, designed to meet the growing demand for shorter-cut silage and improved forage quality.

Key benefits at a glance

  • Fine-cut forage: Enhances bale quality, feed intake, and milk yields
  • Fuel savings: Cutting during baling is more efficient than using a mixer wagon
  • Reliable knife positioning and pro-active knife cleaning
  • Easy knife exchange: Tool-free access via sliding knife cassette
  • Upgraded driveline: Maximum capacity and durability

A fine cut for a next level bale

The new OPTICUT 33 intake system features 33 knives delivering a 34 mm theoretical cutting length. Smaller particles improve mixability and bale density, boosting bale preservation and cow productivity.

Smart knife positioning and cleaning

KUHN’s patented* pro-active knife cleaning technology automatically cleans all knives - active or not - after a set number of bales. Each knife retracts individually upon impact, with secure positioning in all modes.

*Patent or patent pending in one or more countries.

Effortless maintenance

With one press on the terminal, knives are cleaned an additional three times, and knives and DROPFLOOR are automatically positioned to open the knife cassette The cassette slides out in one smooth motion without any tools needed.

Enhanced driveline performance

The VBP 7160 and VBP 7190 feature an upgraded driveline layout for high-capacity fine cutting. The combination of the INTEGRAL ROTOR with DURASTEEL tines and an extra-wide heavy-duty pick-up ensures reliable crop intake and enhanced operator comfort.
